Swiftwater Safety Course

Utah Whitewater Gear is hosting a small group Swiftwater Safety Course taught by Josh Reinhart. This six person class is designed for paddlers who want practical skills and real world decision making experience in moving water.

This course focuses on personal safety skills, hazard recognition, rescue fundamentals, and teamwork in river environments. Instruction combines clear classroom explanation with hands on scenarios in the water so participants leave with skills they can immediately apply on the river.

Keeping the class limited to six people allows for more individual instruction, feedback, and realistic practice time. This is an ideal course for kayakers, rafters, packrafters, and guides who want to improve their confidence and safety margin while running rivers.

Josh Reinhart is an experienced swiftwater instructor and river professional. For more information about Josh and his background, visit www.wasatchwhitewater.com.

This course is hosted by Utah Whitewater Gear and supports safer river communities through education and hands on training.

All Instructors:

- are ACA certified for instructing flat, moving and whitewater kayaking and SUP.

- have their Captain’s guide license required by the state of Utah.

- are all certified in CPR and First Aid.
