Deer Creek Paddle And Demo Day

Go Paddle Utah's Intro to Paddle Sports: Boat Demo & Skills Day is a free, hands-on event at Deer Creek State Park designed to let participants test-drive a massive lineup of top-tier kayaks, packrafts, and paddleboards with unlimited 30-minute demo sessions. While there are no formal classes or provided meals, attendees can get expert on-water guidance from experienced mentors, practice basic to intermediate techniques, and connect with an inclusive paddling community.

1. General Information

Date: Sat, Aug 8, 2026 @10 AM

 

Get ready to have some fun! Attendees will have the chance to test-drive a wide variety of premium watercraft, including:

  • Packrafts: Alpacka Mage SB (all sizes) and Alpacka Gnarwhal SB (all sizes)

  • Whitewater Kayaks: Jackson Antix 3.0, Jackson Flow, Jackson Clutch, Jackson Gnarvana, Jackson Dynamic Duo, Pyranha ReactR, and Pyranha Helectron.

  • Inflatable & Youth Kayaks: AIRE Outfitter I, AIRE Force, and the Tributary Spud (Youth).

  • Stand-Up Paddleboards (SUPs): Badfish Rivershred, Badfish Monarch, Badfish Selfie 14, and Badfish Surf Traveler.

Note: There are no formal, structured classes, and no full meals are provided onsite, participants are highly encouraged to pack their own refreshments and bring a friend along!

 

2. Schedule

  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Check-in window for all participants.

  • 10:00 AM-12:00 PM Rolling 30-minute demo sessions run throughout the day, allowing participants to try as many different boats and paddleboards as they like.

3. Location

The event is being held at Deer Creek State Park, specifically utilizing the Peterson Group Camp Area (PET101). It is on the south side of the park. Follow the road from the Main main entrance and turn right into the parking lot. Park staff is also happy to offer directions!

 

4. Insurance Information

To ensure that participants are fully covered by insurance during their time on the water at the event, there is a $10 insurance fee per participant. While registration is entirely free to attendees, Go Paddle Utah asks participants to consider making a small donation to help offset these operational costs.
