Trip Forge River Trip Planner

Trip Forge River Trip Planner

Build the Stoke, Skip the Spreadsheet

Planning a private river trip should be part of the fun.

The permit gets pulled. The group chat lights up. Everyone starts talking boats, camps, meals, fishing, weather, flows, and who is bringing what. The stoke is high.

Then reality shows up.

Someone starts a spreadsheet. Gear is tracked in a text thread. Meal plans are in someone's notes app. Flow links are saved in three different places. Nobody remembers who borrowed the spare PFD. And when the trip is over, all the good details you meant to save disappear because real life hits fast.

That's why we're excited about TripForge.

TripForge is a river trip planning app built for private boaters. It is free to use right now. They just ask that users support the businesses that support them, which includes us here at Utah Whitewater Gear.

The idea is simple: keep the whole trip in one place.

With TripForge, you can create your own trip, build out the details, and use a trip hero image to make it feel like your launch is really happening. From there, your group can manage the moving pieces without jumping between apps, spreadsheets, browser tabs, and text chains.

You can look at current and historical flows. Check weather. Organize crew. Track boats. Manage gear. Plan meals. Sort out shuttle details. Keep documents together. Assign responsibilities. See what still needs attention before launch.

The gear side is especially useful. If you loan something out, you can record it. If someone is bringing a group item, it can be tracked. If you are wondering who has what, TripForge gives the group a place to answer that before everyone is standing at the boat ramp.

And this is still just the start.

One thing we're excited to see develop is food partnerships. If someone is flying in from out of town, who can help pack food? Who can help with last-minute trip needs? TripForge is working toward having more of those answers covered inside the planning flow.

That is the bigger promise: all the things you wonder about while planning a trip, in one place.

The cool part is that it does not have to disappear when the trip is over. TripForge is building toward keeping the trip record too: who came, where you camped, what the flows were, what the weather did, how the fishing was, notes from the trip, and one place for the photo dump.

Basically, all the stuff you think you are going to organize when you are in full trip stoke, but usually do not get around to once you get off the river and life comes rushing back.

TripForge is still in beta, and they are looking for real feedback from real river users. If you are planning a trip this season, go try it. Create a trip, invite your crew, poke around, and let them know what works and what could be better.

And if TripForge helps you get ready for the river, support the folks helping keep it free. We'll see you at the shop.

Thanks,
Chris
