CloseDescription
Completely redesigned from the ground up, the CRx2 pulley is a dramatic improvement over the popular CRx pulley.
The lightweight CRx2 has a stainless-steel axle and lightweight nylon sheave to maximize efficiency and provide the best strength to weight ratio. Ideal for alpine climbers, mountaineers, or anybody who wants a lightweight utility pulley at a great price point. The CRx2’s compact size and featherweight belies its solid strength and efficiency; it is stronger than any other pulley in the same size and price range. The side plates are prusik minding for use in a 3 to1 Z haul system. A smooth running 1.25" nylon sheave runs on a stainless-steel rivet axle, and the color-contrasting aluminum side plates rotate for easy rope insertion and removal. Easy to use, easy to carry -a great palm-sized partner on the mountain and nearly anywhere else. This pulley is not suitable for use on ziplines, cables or high-speed use. Made in the USA
- Easier to carry in your life jacket pocket or swiftwater rescue kit than other, heavier pulleys.
- The pulley works great in Z-drag 3-to-1 extraction systems, rated at an amazing 22kN (4,946 lbf) load strength.
- High-strength aluminum sides keep it light while a stainless steel axle resists corrosion.
- Also features a durable and smooth-running Delrin® sheave.
- Handles ropes up to 1/2" (13 mm) in diameter.
- This pulley has the required prusik-minding capability for use in 3-to-1 mechanical advantage systems, making it easier to haul or lower heavy loads.
Climbers around he world asked if we could build a lighter CR (Crevasse Rescue Pulley) without taking away from the exceptional breaking strength and the SMC design team took up the challenge by designing the new CRx (Crevasse Rescue Pulley). Everything thing you love about the CR without the X-tra weight! This full featured pulley has contrasting anodized aluminum side plates, stainless steel axel and lightweight Nylon Sheave to maximize efficiency and provide the best strength to weight ratio. Ideal for alpine climbers and mountaineers who want the lightest strongest pulley available at an exceptional price point.
The CRx's diminutive size and featherweight belies its solid strength and efficiency when used in 2-to-1 C-system tests to greater strengths than any other pulleys in the same range of size and price. It has the required prusik minding capability for use in 3-to-1 Z-system (which means it makes it easier to haul up heavy stuff without popping a vein, or to lower heavy stuff without dropping it!).
A smooth running 1.25" nylon sheave runs on a stainless steel rivet axle, and the color-contrasting aluminum side plates rotate for easy rope insertion and removal. Easy to use, easy to carry - a great palm-sized partner on the mountain and nearly anywhere else!
This pulley is not suitable for use on ziplines, cables, or traverses with steep slopes.
